It’s no secret that I am an avid fan of Kiehl’s skincare products. From before they even hit South African shores, I would make sure that I purchase their sunscreen on any overseas trips because it’s one of the few that don’t make me break out. So the fact that I get to work with the brand is basically a dream come true. I was sent two of their latest products to test out and see if I like them (how can I not like them, though?), and one of them have officially become my new favouritein skincare!

midnight recovery cleansing oil

Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil RRSP R650.00

Kiehl’s are famous for their Midnight Recovery Oil, so when I heard that they’ve come out with a cleansing oil version I had to try it. I’m a fan of oil cleansing, because I personally feel that it takes off my makeup a lot better. It also helps for my dry skin, because often cleansers can leave your skin feeling tight and flakey. However, having said that, oil cleansers are not only for dry skin. In fact, it works wonders for oily skin and this particular one promises to be non-comedogenic (fancy way of saying it doesn’t block your pores) and non-acnegenic (fancy way of saying it won’t make you break out).

It’s also one of the few cleansers that I own that doesn’t burn my eyes. I often have to use a separate makeup remover and then go over it with a cleanser (avoiding the eye area) and this kind of rolls those two steps into one. My only gripe is that it can’t be left in the shower (bummer, because I prefer to cleanse my face in the shower in the morning) so I only use it at night.

pure vitality skin renewing cream

Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream RRSP R895.00

This right here is the star of the show (or post, rather). It’s a total game changer and has replaced my favourite day cream. I am obsessed with the Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream, and that’s putting it lightly. It’s made up of 96% all natural ingredients and my skin is thanking me for that – it’s never been in better condition! I have combination skin that’s mostly dry, so this particular product helps with dryness because it contains manuka honey (and we know honey is shifa  {naturally healing}).

I’ve never had glowy skin, but I can guarantee this product will give you that glow from within look that you desire. It feels so incredible when you put it on (although it can be a little sticky initially) but this is one product that I can visibly see a difference. It aims to smooth texture and give you a healthy radiance and from the time I started using it until now, I do find that my skin texture has improved, especially around my cheek area.

The only thing I can fault is that I have to be careful around my eye area (or avoid it entirely and use an eye cream) because it does burn a little if it somehow gets onto my lashes or into my eye.

What’s your favourite Kiehl’s product?
