Do you ever find the perfect dress and decide that’s all you want to wear for the next three months? That’s exactly how I felt with this Daniel Hechter (Truworths, R799) dress; it’s light and airy, opaque enough to not have to wear anything heavy underneath, and incredibly stylish with the nautical navy and cream stripes. With the heatwave Johannesburg has been having, I welcomed having something easy to throw on and still feel cool yet stylish in. I took this in a size 42, because I wanted it to be longer and a bit more modest and loose-fitting. The tie belt brings it back to shape so it doesn’t look frumpy on me.
Printed shirt dresses were all over international fashion bloggers during their Spring/Summer months, and I actually couldn’t wait for our Summer so I could wear one. They’re exceptionally easy to wear, and I love that it can be worn in so many different ways, like as a throw over with a jeans and tee or unbuttoned over a bodycon dress. It’s a very forgiving style as well, so you can eat that extra bowl of ice cream guilt free!
