My fondest and earliest memories often involved drawing and colouring in of some sort. Give me a crayon and a piece of paper and I could be occupied for hours. That love for colouring in paper evolved into a love of colouring in faces (haha!) for not only me but probably thousands of women out there. The Clinique Team, the innovative individuals they are, did something absolutely marvellous: The collaborated Crayola to bring us 4 limited edition Clinique chubby sticks designed to replicate our favourite childhood crayon.
Spot the difference?
If you’ve never experienced the Clinique chubby sticks before, I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for something for everyday use. The texture is sort of in between a lip balm and a lipstick. It’s very hydrating but still remains relatively matte (i.e. it doesn’t give that super sheen look like a lip balm does). It’s one of those products that you can’t really tell if the person just has amazing lips or if they wearing something to enhance it.
The limited edition shades consist of the following: Pink Sherbert, Red Violet, Wild Strawberry and Mauvelous.
Pink Shebert is quite light on my lips, but it’s a great base to use before laying a matte liquid lipstick over. Red Violet is true to its colour as it is a chubby stick intense – which means the colour payoff is brilliant. It’s a great colour to try as a newbie if you’re not ready to go full-on with a lipstick, especially for Winter when deep berry shades are in. Wild Strawberry is a subtle red tone which is basically a more wearable red for daytime use. Mauvelous is my favourite from them all; it’s a mauve shade that matches my lip tone perfectly and it’s the one I keep wearing since I received it. It really enhances my lips but it’s so subtle. I honestly feel like this is what Rosie Huntington-Whiteley might use to get her perfect pout!
