It’s no secret that pastels are hot for Spring/Summer. Ranges are already out in stores, and I had to get my hands on a pair. I opted for lilac and a pale turquoise, and surprisingly, they’re not that hard to match up!

My next two purchases of the week is more of a beauty review

MAYBELLINE

First up, Maybelline Illegal Length Mascara. I’m not one to really wear mascara, mainly because of the process of removing it. But who doesn’t want fluttery lashes over a weekend out?

I decided to try out Maybelline’s Illegal Length mascara, which I immediately fell in love with. It’s one of those mascaras that stay true to its claims.

I had absolutely no clumps, just seriously dark, impossibly long lashes. The BEST part? It cost me a mere R99! (Purchased at Clicks Pharmacy). That’s cheaper than most drugstore mascaras, and had the best effect yet (sneaky advise, I was previously using Lancome Mascara, and for less than half the price, Illegal Length gave me the same results!)

ESSENCE COSMETICS

Essence comes out with limited edition ranges monthly, and their latest range is called Marble Mania. I purchased this blush as it has the most gorgeous sheen to it (hello, healthy glow!) and such a yummy scent! It isn’t as bright on skin as pictured, but in a good way. No one wants rag doll pink cheeks. If you’re looking for the perfect pink blush, I highly recommend this one. It doesn’t fade after an hour like most blushes do, and it withheld two of my main requirements of a perfect blush: I dropped it (by mistake, promise!) and it didn’t fall apart, and the price (just R40!) is unbeatable.
