If you ask anyone, the general go-to for everyday makeup consists of:
- tinted moisturiser
- lipgloss
- mascara
Now think about this, ever thoroughly cleansed your face at night, only to look like a raccoon the next morning anyway? Or have constant breakouts even when you keep your makeup minimal? What gives?
Well, you’ve got your basic makeup all wrong. And I’m going to show you quick and easy switch ups for each.
TINTED MOISTURISER

Applying foundation directly onto the skin without a barrier (a primer) is asking for blemishes.
Rather use a sunblock that has a tint, such as Clinique City Block (and it’s oil free!) to give your skin time to breathe with added protection, and add primer and concealer only on the areas that need coverage.
LIPGLOSS

Lipgloss may give your lips that sexy sheen and fullness everyone desires, but it’s actually drying out your lips in the process. Rather opt for a lip conditioner, such as the one by MAC (available in different shades), to protect your lips and prevent chapping. Need a pick me up? Use a fun, bright coloured lippy to contrast with your bare face!
MASCARA

Trying to remove mascara is never easy, and premature wrinkles from all the rubbing to remove the excess will be the result. No matter what miracle eye makeup remover you own, it takes an effort that really isn’t necessary everyday. Switch up your favourite mascara for a swipe of eye liner close to your lash line. I love gel liner, but whatever liquid can work too. It gives a polished look, makes your lashes look fuller, and is much gentler to remove.
There we go! Easy switch ups for healthier skin.
This was really helpful! Thanks for posting and I love your blog by the way
